Because the shield covers the whole team at once, it is especially useful against burst damage. It does not restore health over time, so it works as protection rather than healing. The Earth element gives an advantage over Water and Distortion titans, while Fire titans have the advantage over Avalon.

Avalon is a support, so balanced stats work best. The Balance Seal comes first, adding a solid mix of Attack and Health. Andvari's Bulwark, the weapon, is second, as its Elemental Damage strengthens the titan's attacks. The Earth Crown is third, providing Elemental Armor against elemental damage, especially from Fire titans.

The Mechanical Skin should be upgraded first for its Elemental Damage. The Default Skin is next, adding Health to keep Avalon alive in the middle line. The Champion Skin provides Elemental Armor and can be left for last.
