Fafnir in Hero Wars
Fafnir is a support/control hero positioned at the back line in the Hero Wars Dominion Era. He is extremely useful for physical attack teams because he can increase damage and armor penetration.
Aside from his damage-increase abilities, Fafnir also has a shield that can block any damage. The shieldprioritizes heroes with the Agility stat, which are usually damage dealers that are physical attack heroes.
Fafnir is also considered a replacement for Martha if you have a team that counts on speed. If your team is planned around long battles, Martha might be a preferred choice.

Stuns all enemies for 2 seconds seconds and grants the effect form the Runic Blade skill to all allies. If an ally is protected by a Runic Shield, all allies receive the shield's effect in the same amount.

Runic Shield
Fafnir targets a random ally and begins using his basic attacks to forge a Runic Shield for them. Its durability increases with each hit. The shield activates if the target hero takes damage that lowers their health to below 25%. The shield absorbs any damage when active. The Runic Shield protects the target ally from lethal damage once per battle. Heroes with the Agility main stat are prioritized when selecting an ally.
Shield durability with each hit: 22150 (30% Physical attack + 10 * Level).

Enchants the weapon wielded by the ally Fafnir is forging a Runic Shield for, increasing damage from their physical attacks for 8 seconds seconds. While allied Honor heroes attack enemies with the strength main stat, their bonus from this skill is doubled.

Knowledge of Flaws
When an allied hero stuns an enemy, Fafnir casts a Knowledge of Flaws Seal on them for 10 seconds, boosting their armor penetration stat. When the hero stuns an enemy again, the Seal duration is reset. The armor penetration bonus stacks up to 5 times.

Oliver is preferred as a first choice due to his ability to increase Fafnir's health so he can last longer. Even if Mara is positioned second, she can be a preferred choice when the enemy team has Albus and Fafnir is becoming the hero with the highest health.
Fafnir's Runic Shield
Fafnir designates a random ally as his partner, employing basic attacks to craft a Runic Shield for them. The shield's strength amplifies with each strike and activates if the targeted hero's health dips below 25%, efficiently absorbing any ensuing damage.
When choosing an ally for the Runic Shield, those with the Agility main stat take precedence. In the absence of such allies, a random selection is made, and if none are available, Fafnir opts for self-designation.
Fafnir remains linked to his chosen ally until their final demise. If the target ally is resurrected after being killed, the connection persists, allowing Fafnir to persistently forge Runic Shields and Runic Blades.
The Runic Shield extends a safeguard against lethal damage once per battle. Key points include:
- Protection from lethal damage operates irrespective of the shield's activation status (considered inactive when the target's health exceeds 25%).
- This safeguard triggers once per battle for a hero, even if resurrected.
- If Fafnir's initially chosen target ally is slain, a new ally is selected, providing them with the same protection.
- The protection exclusively applies to Fafnir's current partner and does not extend to other allies through his Blacksmith Mastery skill.
- Notably, protection from lethal damage is executable even when the Runic Shield has a durability of 0.
Regarding shield durability after a lethal blow:
- If the target ally, with over 25% health (inactive Runic Shield), faces lethal damage, the shield safeguards them, activating afterward to absorb damage equal to its durability.
- If the target ally, with less than 25% health (active Runic Shield), encounters lethal damage, the shield absorbs damage first, then triggers protection. Despite the ally surviving with 1 health, the shield loses its ability to absorb subsequent damage when its durability hits zero.
The Runic Shield's maximum durability elevates with skill level, reaching 210667 when the "Runic Shield" skill is fully mastered.
