Iris is a mage hero in the Way of Eternity faction that needs many buffs and debuffs to reach her maximum effect. Even if she has only one skill that can do damage, Inner Fire, this might be enough to beat many teams. For example, each time a debuff is activated for the enemy team, this skill is activated, causing damage over time.

How does this team work?
Iris needs many buffs and debuffs to reveal its full potential. Combining her with heroes that have such and picking these from her faction, Way of Eternity, makes her highly effective.
- Corvus's ultimate, Strike of the Damned, is a debuff. The magic defense decrease can reach up to 15k with Iris and the other Way of Eternity heroes in the team. His 2nd skill, Unity of the Damned, is also a buff and significantly increasesIris's magic attack.
- Morrigan's 2nd skill, Bone Armor, summons skeletons and increases the defense for all Eternity heroes. It is also counted as a buff adding Pure Charges to Iris.
- Phobos's 1st skill, Paralysis, and his 2nd skill, Dreaded Shadow, are also debuffs. His magic defense reduction combines well with Iris' 2nd skill, Otherworldly Creature (Bitey).

Best Iris Hydra Teams
Even though Iris is immune to debuffs applied by Hydra, she is not often used in Hydra battles and there is no meta team with this hero so far that can counter any Hydra.
How to counter Iris in Hero Wars Alliance?
Lian

Lian's 4th skill, Conciliation, is triggered by Iris's attacks. She charms Iris for almost the whole fight with each attack performed and slows her down, so she's not being able to benefit from the team buffs and debuffs.
Aurora

Aurora absorbs most of the magic damage (80%, max) with her 4th skill, Rainbow Halo, and damages nearby enemies when the shield explodes.
Amira

Amira blocks magic damage under 62141 (max) with her 3rd skill, Genie's Patronage. This means Iris cannot do damage over time with her 4th skill, Inner fire. Amira's artifact weapon also has an additional magic defense buff for her team.
Julius

Julius casts a shield that absorbs any damage with his 1st skill, Meowsterpiece of Defense. When the shield is destroyed, he removes all debuffs with his 3rd skill, Nine-Lives Engine. In addition, the same skill also provides magic defense and armor for his teammates.
Corvus

Corvus's altar can kill Iris almost immediately after being activated when Iris starts burning the enemy team.
