Hill Climb Racing 1 – Beginner's guide

The basics of the game in 6 simple steps

Hill Climb Racing 1 is one of our favorite classic mobile games of 2012. It was first released by the Finnish studio Fingersoft for Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, and Windows Phone. It was created by Toni Fingerroos, Fingersoft's founder, and is the company's best-known product.

It might be said that this racing game is fun, addictive, and gives you a chance to collect maps and vehicles, making it even more exciting and spam-worthy. More often than not, one would crash and snap the neck of his driver or run out of fuel throughout my games.

But as they say: “Practice makes perfect,” and with time, you will figure out some basics that could help you become better at the game. Look at 6 of the essential hints for success in this game.

1

Don’t turn over your car

The first tip we are going to give you is pretty self-explanatory. One of the best ways to survive throughout the game is… well, to stay. Try not to kill your driver because that will end the game on the spot.

One of the most famous death scenarios is bridges or bumpy parts of the map. Instead of speeding through them and hoping for the best, slow down and take your time passing through. This is one of the best methods to stay safe in the early aspects of your gameplay, where your vehicle isn’t fully upgraded.
2

Be careful with how you use the accelerator

Although stepping on the gas is the main ingredient for success in this game, it is undoubtedly a double-edged sword. Remember that if you do not operate with it mindfully, you kill your driver.

For example, you should be very careful how you accelerate midair – stepping on the gas pedal in those moments will push the back of the car downwards, which will most likely result in your car turning over. Of course, it might as well result in a flip that will pay good money, but you never know with this game!

Note: Depending on the type of vehicle, speeding can either bring the back of the car upwards or downwards.

3

Pick a smooth-ride vehicle

As you explore the game, you will find a wide selection of vehicles you can use as long as you save up. Some of them are impractical, though; if you’re looking for an easy game, you should avoid them. A solid piece of advice is to stick to more basic vehicles such as hill climbers (essential cars), motocross bikes, and quad bikes. These are easier to maneuver and will bring you further down the road.

4

Farm coins on the right maps

Different vehicles are not the only things you can spend your money on. Picking the correct map is the next step to becoming filthy rich in the game. Most maps are fun to drive on but become more difficult the further you go, and being careful doesn’t always earn you the money you need.

One of the best maps to farm coins is the Moon map – gravity doesn’t work the way it’s intended to, so you get all the “airtime” and flips necessary to become more prosperous.
5

Keep track of your fuel levels

The main struggle baby drivers face in their early gameplay is an empty gas tank. You must be extra wary of how much fuel you have left if you want to continue driving. Otherwise, you’ll be left stranded.

Another option could be using the nitro tanks available in the store (you can use diamonds earned throughout the game). They’ll push you further enough to reach the next pitstop.
6

Upgrade your vehicles according to what you need

While playing, you’ll notice that your car or motorcycle might not accelerate enough or might have a hard time with bumpy parts of the road. Well, all that is easily fixable – you need the right upgrades.

You can upgrade your engine, suspension, tires, and the 4WD system. You can find the promotions when you choose your vehicle for the game. You’ll find that all of them are good to have, but some should be prioritized for specific maps and objectives. Either way, as you excel in the game, you’ll collect enough money to upgrade any vehicle fully – you need to save up!

As you continue playing the game, you’ll figure out your own “tips and tricks” to make the most out of your experience. But it doesn’t matter how much you save up, spend, or flip over – the most basic rule of all games is always to have fun. Nevertheless, the basics of it are always handy and good to know.
