Lexx - S02E18 - Brigadoom
Lexx divides viewers - some hate it for the ridiculous sets and costumes caused by the shockingly low budget, others adore it for the courage of his screenwriters to break taboos and try things that television in the 90's did not dare.
The episode takes place practically on a single stage from a ghostly theater that mysteriously appeared on Lexx's path, but is more than beautiful - because of the talent of the actors, the director's work and the polyphonic singing. Moreover, it is important for the mythology of the series – it tells the background of Kai's people – the Brunnen G. It turns out that they were immortal, but in decline, when His shadow destroyed their planet (this is the event the pilot episode of the shows begins with).
The plot has one or two twists, deals with a topic that has always excited fans, and tells it in a way proper for a mythical civilization presented in a show with a meager budget - with epic songs filled with love for the writing material and driven by diligence. The episode ranks third in the IMDB rating out of a total of 61 in the series.
