DeLorean DMC-12 – Back to the Future
As a matter of fact, the prototype of this car is quite real – manufactured in the 80’s in Northern Ireland. Unfortunately, the one they made didn’t have a time machine. In the plot of the film, time travel requires moving at the speed of 88 miles per hour, so that’s why Dr. Emmett Brown has the idea to put his time machine in a vehicle.
The Delorean was chosen due to its interesting design, its gull-wing doors and low chassis. Over the course of time the car from the movie has become iconic and while the manufacturer went bankrupt ages ago, there are still some 6,000 prototypes circling around the world to-day. In any case, the scene with the high-speed time-travel will remain in history forever.
