The story of Clark Kent, the future Superman, growing up had a very good potential and it accomplished it completely in a time when adapting a comic book hero to the small screen is quite hard. In the first years the show kept things fresh with interesting plots and the addition of other characters from the DC universe. The focus always fell on the drama, most often – the teenage drama – not space battles.

Today's fans of the Arrow and its many spinoffs may not be as impressed but for the beginning of the new century – ten seasons is quite an accomplishment.
